RE-CALIBRATION PROCEDURE (at MP FILTRI locations) MP Filtri UK Ltd will notify registered owners of the LPA2 Laser Particle Analyser; approximately one month prior to the recalibration date of the unit, that recalibration of their equipment is required. Upon receipt of this information owners are requested to acknowledge whether they require their unit to be recalibrated, and provide MP Filtri with an official work order number authorising recalibration of their equipment.MP Filtri UK will only verify the accuracy of the LPA2 if the unit is recalibrated every twelve months. It is requested that only the LPA2 , not the support case, be returned for recalibration. Prior to dispatch please ensure that the contents of the LPA2 's memory have been downloaded, if previous test results are required. Please ensure that the LPA2 is packaged appropriately for transportation; the LPA2 is an instrumentation product, and forwarded to: MP Filtri UK Limited. MP Filtri UK will acknowledge receipt of the LPA2 and undertake a standard recalibration procedure. The standard recalibration consists of: -
Accuracy of the LPA2 Laser Particle Analyser will then be assured for a further twelve months. Recalibration will take approximately 5 working days. If a replacement unit (UK only) is required for this period please notify MP Filtri UK at the earliest opportunity. The above recalibration procedure does not include the replacement of any damaged components that have been deemed defective through excessive wear and tear, negligence or mis-use. Prior to the replacement of any component, or any work not covered within the standard recalibration procedure, authority will be requested from the registered owner of the unit authorising remedial work. An estimate of the cost required to repair the unit will be provided to the owner of the unit before any remedial work is undertaken. The owner of the unit is to authorise that repairs are to be conducted upon receipt of the estimate quotation. If any components from the support case require replacing, please notify MP Filtri UK and these will be dispatched with the LPA2 following recalibration. All consumables will be charged at list price, see attached. Owners of LPA2's returned to the UK from outside the European Union should raise the appropriate export documentation (Form C88), clearly stating that the LPA2 is being returned to the UK for recalibration / repair under UK Customs and Excise IPR Authorisation Number IP/0929/003/11. This will avoid import duty being levied upon entry to the UK. Carriage will be charged ex. Works.
SECONDARY CALIBRATION VERIFICATION PROCEDURE Two oil samples have been supplied for the secondary calibration verification procedure. Cleanliness of components is critical for the verification procedure therefore adhere to the instructions detailed within ISO 3722, or contained within the LPA2 User Guide when operating the Bottle Sampling Unit. Sample 1 Follow the procedure below for best results:
Please note: - when completed, remove the Bottle Sampling lid and stand on a beaker / bottle so that the sample tube is facing downwards and does not come into contact with any external surfaces.
Sample 2 As solid contaminants within the fluid will settle over time it is vital that the following procedures are undertaken to ensure that particulate distribution is uniform throughout the fluid sample.
Upon completion of the test procedure the LPA2 will report an ISO 4406 Code of 22/21/17. It is permissible for a deviation of 1 ISO code either side of ISO 22/21/17; i.e. 22/21/18 etc. If the LPA2 does not report this code contact MP Filtri UK Ltd.
