Facility development work is being undertaken at MP Filtri UK Ltd, increasing capacity at the factory in Bourton-on-the-Water.
MP Filtri UK’s Managing Director says: “We are always looking at ways to improve our products and services to our customers. Once again we are re-investing in our facility, this time expanding and improving the packing and assembly area, increase storage space and general expansion for our future planned growth of the company.”

Throughout the year MP Filtri UK have been developing their metrological & computational capabilities, which is driving product improvements. By monitoring geometry and analysing components to a greater resolution, we have been able to drive product performance, development & production capabilities.
MP Filtri UK’s Project Engineer says: “The improvements we have made over the coming year have improved repeatability and reduced in-efficiencies in our production process. Furthermore, data can be collected more quickly and efficiently which is improving areas of development and decision making.”

New highly corrosion resistant finish for ICM!

New corrosion resistant paint finish applied as standard to the ICM. The ICM outer paint protection is a polyurethane based finish used commonly in arduous applications. It is approved under various military & DoD specifications and is used commonly in off-shore & aerospace sectors also.

Micron level optical measurement capability in inspection!

New optical measurement capabilities in inspection allow MP Filtri’s condition monitoring division to control component quality down to micron level.
MP Filtri’s CMP Quality Inspector says: “Being able to corroborate our results with that of our critical component suppliers provides a greater degree of confidence when accepting goods for production. Additionally, to have the ability to measure to such small tolerances provides benefits for engineering and test here in the UK”

New High Pressure production testing rig implementation

A new production pressure test capability has been added to CMP’s facilities in Bourton-on-the-Water, UK. As an upgrade from our previous test benches, it affords improved efficiency in production as well as ease of use for our operators.
MP Filtri UK’s Production Team Leader says: “The new rig delivers the latest safety improvements for personnel as well as reduced cycle time through production by allowing us to standardise our process hydraulic fluids. All of our CMP products go through a rigorous set of high and low pressure test prior to delivery to the customer, and this facility further improves seal integrity checks by operating with a fluid of half the viscosity of our previous test benches.”

New CMM added to inspection facility!

As part of our ongoing commitment to quality improvements, MP Filtri UK have added an Axiom 2 co-ordinate measuring machine to the inspection facilities.
MP Filtri UK’s CMP Quality Inspector says: “The new machine provides us with improved measurement capability with a greater degree of accuracy. It will allow us to develop our relationship with suppliers and also refine our detailed designs. Lead times to production and throughput of work has also improved.”

More Solid Model CAD seats added!

MP Filtri Ltd have recently increased their CAD capability at the factory in Gloucestershire, UK. The additional seats for SolidWorks strengthen our resource in development.

MP Filtri UK Ltd attended the annual international standards meeting for the design, test & manufacture of contamination monitoring equipment. This years meeting was held in Frankfurt, Germany where representatives from a variety of businesses came together to discuss developments in the standards.
MP Filtri have been long standing members on the committee, as well as various other industry bodies such as the BFPA.
MP Filtri UK Ltd’s Production & Development Manager says: “MP Filtri’s ongoing commitment to these meetings and events is of great importance. Seminar Success!

Over 80 attendee’s participated in the Contamination Control Seminar hosted by MP Filtri at the National Fluid Power Centre at Worksop on March 15th.
The day was planned in such a way that everyone attending had an opportunity to have hands-on experience using the particle counter range of products designed and manufactured by MP Filtri UK. Other subjects discussed included, how contamination control can save you money, filter element technology, the MP Filtri extensive product range and a case study from a major OEM who uses best practices in all areas of their manufacturing.
Major manufacturing companies attended included JCB, Sandvik, Eaton and Moog Controls.
Andy Hall, Production Manager from a major OEM commented – ‘The day was very well presented in such a way that it kept everyone interested. By breaking down groups and moving around in short periods of time to maintain focus achieved this. Many courses can become too intense and people loose concentration, this was not the case.’
John Savage, Director of The NFPC commented, ‘We’ve held many courses here at the NFPC, I believe that this one was the best we’ve ever had.’

MPFiltri are proud to announce the launch of a Phosphate Esther & Aggressive fluid ICM. It has 316 stainless steel and perfluroelastomer wetted parts which provide extremely good performance against the majority of liquid types. CAN-bus Protocol now available as standard with ICM

CAN-bus communications are now available as standard with the ICM In-line contamination monitor. The physical layer is to ISO 11898-2 and the base protocol is CAN 2.0B which covers a large proportion of market applications. Other protocols are available on request. MP Filtri UK’s Project Engineer says: “The main hurdle with Phosphate Esters and more aggressive fluids is material compatibility. This has been overcome by suitable material selection, however due to the aggressive nature of the fluid these product will not be available with moisture sensing. The ICM can output results across 8 channels from 4um to 70um. It can also report in NAS, AS4059E & ISO 11218, as well as ISO4406.”

CanBus Protocol due for release middle 2010!

Due around mid year 2010, MP Filtri UK will be adding Canbus protocol to the ICM as standard. This will provide a more versatile product and will start to open the door to major industries utilising this kind of communication. Initially, the protocol will be the most common interface (ISO 11898-2) providing a good platform for future developments & customer applications.

Off-shore & Water Based fluid ICM & FC1 launched!
